I thought that instead of just doing a round-up of the interesting things I’ve read lately, I’d do a whole, “What I’m Into Lately” post. Hopefully it will cover some of the things I missed posting about the past few weeks.

What I’m Watching…

During the height of morning sickness I watched an entire season and a half of The West Wing on Netflix. I sat as still as possible, absorbing myself in the plot line so I wouldn’t think about being sick and then go and be sick. It worked. Mostly.

I also watched all the seasons of Say Yes to the Dress available on Netflix.

Weekly I’m finishing up SYTYCD, enjoying DWTS, so excited about the new season of Parenthood, and also loving The Voice, even though Shakira and Usher aren’t back this season.

What I’m Eating…

I have more food aversions than cravings these days, which is frustrating to say the least, but there are some trends.

Pickles. Citrus. Tex-Mex. Burgers. Ice-cold drinks. Also, small portions and novelty.

What I’m Geeking out on…

The Enneagram. I had heard the term, but I never looked into it this week. There’s a lot to explore here. I tested as a hardcore Type 4, although my second strongest was Type 1 which rings very true and I think means I’m a healthy 4.  Apparently that is the Enneagram type of most MBTI INFP’s (that’s Myers Brigg’s Type Indicator, Introverted Intuitive Feeler Perceivers for those of you who are un-initiated in the wonders of personality testing).  This post got me started, and then I fell down the rabbit hole.

Kate and William are moving into their new apartment in Kensington Palace soon. This has nothing to do with me and I find it very interesting!

Natural, intuitive, mother-led childbirth. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to pursue this since it’s something I’ve been interested in for years. I love the blog Birth Without Fear and I wish more women used birth as an opportunity to embrace the power of their bodies and minds.

Homeschool preschool. I’m hoping to start an extremely laid-back preschool type thing with Nathan in the new year after he turns three. I’m loving it because basically it’s buying great books and intentionally reading them as well as exploring the world with intention. He’s a dream learner in that he’s so interested in everything naturally. This should be fun!

and on the web…

I knew I was starting to leave morning sickness behind when I found Stocking a Whole Foods Pantry to be a) readable and b) energizing.

Sarah Bessy’s blog recently came on my radar and I’m crushing on these two posts. In which I have All the Feelings About Conferences and In which we can only testify by our absence from church both had me (virtually) standing up and cheering. My feelings about church lately are big and complex and confusing and I agree with both of these articles. And yes, we have been only testifying by our absence from church for, oh, the past 14 months and it’s hard that nobody even notices.

My favorite Etsy artist is Katie Daisy so I loved this video of her at work in her studio.

I’m crushing on this shop. And also this one. I want to buy all the things.

One of our guiding principles in food selection is to buy fair trade sugar, coffee, and chocolate. This article gives a good overview of why this is an important issue and some easy ways to still enjoy chocolate, but with a clean conscience.
