I believe in gentle but uncompromising mothering. I believe in reading great stories to your children, and to yourself. I believe in teaching Scripture to little ones. I believe in the power of words. I believe in rhythms, not schedules. I believe in the necessity of boredom. I believe in the discipline of self-control. I believe that children need to learn they play an important part of a bigger story so they know they are important and that everyone else is too. I believe in delicious, healthy, beautiful food. I believe in introducing beauty to your sons and daughters. I believe in open air exercise. I believe in imaginations.  I believe in teaching children how things work. I believe in face-to-face, eye-to-eye conversations. I believe in snuggles and spooning. I believe in tickling. I believe laughter is the best medicine. I believe in the tangible, not the digital. I believe in presence not presents. I believe in the education of play. I believe in art and music and literature. I believe in obedience. I believe that history informs the present, but does not always repeat itself. I believe in saying yes to your children and husband whenever possible and I believe in saying no to everyone else as much as you can. I believe in singing to your children. I believe in turning off the TV. I believe in dancing whenever the music comes on. I believe in teaching children when to be quiet and when to be loud. I believe in discipline, not punishment. I believe in grace. I believe in guidance, not censorship. I believe in conversation, communication, and consequences. I believe in love.
